Modifying vehicle technology and increasing power
The Finnish Vehicles Act 82/2021, in force since 1 March 2021, prohibits engine power increases without a modification inspection. It is the customer's responsibility to familiarise themselves with the law and understand its obligations. PPerformance accepts no liability for damage caused by a tuned vehicle in public traffic, or for other indirect costs or personal injury related to the vehicle. The owner and/or driver of the vehicle is responsible for its road safety.
1 June 2024:
“From 1 June 2024, those who program vehicle engines and make modifications must demonstrate that the vehicle meets the emission requirements after the modification – a report by an approved expert or research institute, or a type-approval certificate, is considered sufficient proof.” (Traficom, translated)
Pekka Palo Performance does not manipulate emissions through software and does not mechanically remove a vehicle's original emission control equipment.
Warranty terms and disclaimer
PPerformance is not liable for any damage that may occur to or within the vehicle as a result of increased performance. PPerformance is also not liable for damage during test drives or on test benches. Each customer releases PPerformance (owner: Pekka Palo) from all related claims. The buyer is aware that performance tuning places additional load on the engine and the vehicle. Additional claims by the customer, claims concerning the control unit, engine or other vehicle parts, and damage not relating to the delivered product or service (in particular consequential damage caused by a fault, whether material or immaterial) are excluded. Damage caused solely by higher engine load is also not covered.
